Top to Bottom - Country homes along the way, Laundry, Street scene Seven Oaks Village, Mince Pies and Guinness, Hedges along country road
Today was laundry day. Having been here for almost two weeks it was time to do some basic chores. The closest Laundromat to Hever Castle was in a town called Sevenoaks, about thirty miles over winding country roads. After writing our blog, posting it and checking our e-mail we headed out to Sevenoaks, a town we had yet to visit. This turned out to be a very pretty town, larger than some, but certainly not a big city. We located the Laundromat, deposited our clothes in a washer and set off to see the sights. Finding a parking space was very difficult and required much ingenuity, but Charlie managed to squeeze our car into a place that was really small. While walking around the town we were approached by a couple of newspaper reporters who were doing a story on early Christmas promotions. We were asked about how early Christmas promotions started in the United States. They took our picture along with our comments and told us we will be featured in next week’s paper. As a reward for our interview they gave us both a mini Mince Pie adorned with a Christmas Tree. We immediately went to the nearest pub and ordered two half pints of Guinness and sat down to enjoy our pies. By now it was time to collect our laundry and head home.
We enjoyed a nice dinner at our hotel and plan to watch a movie later on this evening in the guest lounge area.
Tomorrow we plan to head out early to Margate which is FAR AWAY to attend a kite flying festival and if all goes as planned we will be at Leeds Castle at 2:30 for a jousting match. More to follow tomorrow night.

STARS ARE BORN!!! I hope you told them to mail you a copy....the ultimate souvenir....front page news! Wow!! Only our friends!! But, hey, mince pie and Guinness???? Not sure about that combo???? Enjoy your evening and get some much needed R & R!!!
